Product · For staff, reps, dealers and customers

Give people the NetSuite data they need, without buying more seats.

Customer Portal puts reports, account history and order entry in front of the people who need them, connected live to NetSuite. Each person signs in to their own view. Nobody needs a NetSuite login.

How Customer Portal works

Live NetSuite data, the right view for each person

Works with NetSuite today. Other ERPs on request.

The problem

Your data is in NetSuite. The people who need it aren't.

Support needs a sales report, but only Operations can pull it. A dealer wants their order history, so they email your team. A manager wants visibility across departments, but a full NetSuite seat typically costs $129–$199 per user per month for what amounts to looking things up.

NetSuite's built-in Customer Center covers basic order lookup. Once you need real permissions, custom records or a view built around how your team works, you need something on top.

  • “Can someone pull that report?”Every request waits on the one team with NetSuite access.
  • “What did we ship them last quarter?”Reps and dealers email for history they should be able to see.
  • “I need a seat just to look.”Full licenses for people who only read data add up fast.
  • “Who should see what?”Giving NetSuite access to outsiders isn't an option.

What you get

One portal, a different view for every person.

Customer Portal runs on a platform we've already built, with sign-in, permissions, data sync and dashboards in place. Your project is configuring it for your teams and data, not starting from zero.

Live NetSuite data

Reports, records and transactions come straight from NetSuite, so everyone works from the same numbers.

The right view for each role

Support sees support data, managers see financials, dealers see only their own account. Permissions are set per role.

Reports without the wait

Teams pull the reports they need themselves, instead of filing a request with whoever has a NetSuite login.

Also included: secure sign-in for people outside your company, personal dashboards, and exports for the reports people already use.

Start small, grow from there

Start with one team. Add people as it proves itself.

Most portals begin with a single report or team. Every new group uses the same portal, data connection and permissions.

  1. Step 1

    One team, one job

Pick the report or request that causes the most back-and-forth today and give that team direct access.

  2. Step 2

    Every department

Add views for sales, support, finance and operations, each with its own permissions.

  3. Step 3

    Dealers and customers

Open account history and documents to the people you sell to, with no NetSuite seats.

What it costs

Every portal is scoped. Most start with one team or report.

Because the platform is already built, your cost comes from configuring it for your teams, data and permissions. We scope that with you before any work starts.

The savings side is easy to check: count the people who need NetSuite data but not a full NetSuite seat.

What we'll ask to scope it
  • Which teams or partners need access first
  • The reports and records they need to see
  • Who should see what

Questions

Common questions about Customer Portal.

What is Customer Portal?

Customer Portal is a self-service portal connected live to your NetSuite data. Staff, sales reps, dealers and customers sign in to see the reports, records and account history they need, without a NetSuite login or a NetSuite seat.

Can dealers or customers use it without NetSuite seats?

Yes. People sign in to the portal, not to NetSuite, and see only what their role allows.

How is this different from NetSuite's Customer Center?

Customer Center covers basic order lookup. Customer Portal adds permissions by role, custom reports and records, dashboards and a layout built around how your teams work.

Does it work with ERPs other than NetSuite?

Customer Portal works with NetSuite today. If you run a different ERP, talk to us about your setup.

Can internal teams use it, or only customers?

Both. At Contractor Nation, the Dealer Support team uses Customer Portal to pull sales reports from NetSuite themselves, instead of waiting on Operations.

Where do we start?

With one team and the report or request that causes the most back-and-forth today. Once that's working, adding other teams uses the same portal and data connection.
