Apps Permission Disclosure

Last updated: October 1, 2026

Our applications request only the permissions they need to work. This page lists, for each application we publish, every permission it asks for and why it needs it. Merchants are shown these permissions during installation and must approve them before the application can access any store data.Permission names are the platform’s own. Where a permission grants the ability to write data, it also grants the ability to read that same data, so it is listed once. This page supplements our Privacy Notice, which explains how we use, share, and retain the data these permissions give us access to.

HD Store Locator

Shopify

What the app does: HD Store Locator adds a fast, searchable map of a merchant’s retailers and stockists to their Shopify storefront, with market-aware filtering and bulk CSV management.

Permissions requested

PermissionWhat it grants access toWhy this app needs it
read_markets The markets configured on your store, including their names and handles Lets you tag which retailers appear in which market, and lets the storefront map filter automatically to the market a visitor is browsing from. Without it the map can only show every retailer at once.

Data handling

This is the only permission the app requests. It does not request access to your products, orders, customers, inventory, or payment data, and it cannot read them.

Customer data. HD Store Locator does not access, collect, or store any customer or order data, and holds no shopper personal information. It does not use protected customer data and has not requested access to it.

Retailer information you add. The retailer and stockist records you create or import — business name, address, contact details, opening hours, and similar — are information you supply, not information read from your store. We hold them while the app is installed and delete them when you uninstall.

The storefront map. The map block does not track your shoppers. It sets no tracking pixels and records no searches; search and filtering run entirely in the shopper’s browser. To draw the map itself, the shopper’s browser contacts a mapping service directly — OpenStreetMap by default, or Google Maps if you enable it with your own API key. Those services receive the shopper’s IP address and map requests under their own privacy policies. If your store serves visitors in regions with cookie or tracking consent requirements, mention the map provider in your own privacy and cookie disclosures.
